    I’ve waited on this review until I had about 350 rounds through my little 380 Kahr. These have been flawless, and have made it into my CCW magazines.

    The kits I received were well made and the instructions were clear for the new assembly but the follower would hang up on both newly assembled mags. I found that the follower would hangup on the mag lock slot of both magazines and both followers had to be trimmed to be able to load more than 3 rounds. Both magazines now accept 7 rounds but one has a little click loading 7th round. Both are cycling well with dummy rounds at this time, what I really like is the very positive slide locking open on the last round. Kahr has a problem in this area. Haven’t made it to the range for real time testing. I wanted to purchase for other firearms but have to take a wait and see. For the price I would like a product that I didn’t have to experiment on hoping not to screw it up. My life may depend on it.

    So far so good. After 40 +1 mags worth with the MagGuts through my CW380, not a single fail to lock the slide on an empty mag. I may just order another. If I could knock a half star off, it would be that it wouldn’t work in the first mag I tried as the follower would hang on the mag catch notch. I’m guessing a little filing would take care of that, but instead I switched mags and it worked fine.

    Initial results mixed. Modified both a 6 & 7 rd magazine with FTF issues with both mags on the top round. Using Remington 88 gr. JHP that normally feed just fine. Ran 5 full mags each with 2 FTF on both mags on the second shot (top round) so 60% success with that ammo. Gun hasn’t given me any FTF for 300 rds, not sure of cause now. Need more test rds downrange to determine reliability of these springs.

    My first purchase of MagGuts product was two spring kits for my alternate CCW, which is a Kahr P380. One kit to go in the firearm and one to go in my spare magazine. After a couple of range visits, I have put about 150 rounds through each magazine with the new parts. They have worked very well without any functional issues. I certainly appreciate having one extra round in each. Overall, the MagGuts components appear well made and are relatively easy to install. If I had any complaint, it would be the finish on the edges of the followers. They were a bit rough and I found a few burrs on each where they run against the interior wall of the magazine. This was remedied with some #600 wet/dry paper, my Dremel tool and some polishing compound. All in all, satisfied with the product and would consider using equivalent kits in my single stack 9mm, if they become available…

    I put these in a couple of factory 6 and 7 round magazines and have only shot one box of ball ammo through so far, but no failures of any kind yet. Seems like more positive holding of slide open after last shot as well.

    Overall I am very happy. Being able to add an extra round was great. The only complaint I have is the metal piece in the bottom is not as tight as the factory one… it tends to wiggle around but does not come loose. If it were a little tighter this would be a 5+ Star review.

    I had a rough start, I installed a spring backwards didn’t install the floor plates correctly I’d like to thank the magguts team for their expert trouble shooting. I have a CW380 that I has maybe 700 rounds through it and 450 of those with magguts installed. I have occasional failures to feed from a full magazine from slide lock that seem less frequent after installing the kit and the springs taking a slight set. I have had no failures to feed outside of the first round a loaded magazine which is a known issue with this pistol. So, it works and I feel a little more confidant now that I have a 7+1 magazine and a round in the chamber in my pocket most of the time. A longer magazine and a extra round with the kit is a 33% increase in magazine capacity. Some pants need the shorter magazine, in jeans I throw an extra magazine in my watch/coin pocket and I have 16 rounds in a pocket.

    The items I bought were for a Kahr CW380. I bought one for the six round mag and one for the seven round mag. I put them both through the ringer with jacketed and painted pratice ammo. Both performed with no flaws whatsoever. If I have a little gripe, it is about the instruction sheet. My mags have the 1st turn of the upper spring in different directions. The illustration on the paper and on line only show one direction. They probably should indicate that turn direction doesn’t matter in the instructions. I wish they made them for Kahr 9mm magazines.

    I’ve been using these kits in all five of my P380 magazines for at least three years now. They don’t simply hold an extra round. They also remedy several of the inherent flaws with the factory Kahr magazines. Since using them I stopped having rounds nosedive, the springs hold tension when left loaded for long periods of time, and I can actually slingshot the slide now (something you can’t do with the OEM mags). Using these kits may fix many of your functioning problems. The extra round is just icing on the cake.

    After a ten week trip to Kahr my gun came back alot better but still had some reliability issues, after installing my kit for the six round magazine I loaded it up to eight rounds each time and fired 200 rounds as fast as I could reload the magazine and I am happy to say not one failure!!!     I recently purchased your 6rd kit for my P380, and I would recommend it to anyone. Besides adding a round, it has also cured a problem I had of bullets tending to “slip forward” out of the original Kahr 6rd factory magazine, when conceal carried. Prior to fitting your product, I would normally need to release the magazine daily to reinsert an unseated round. Using your 6rd kit affords the advantage of an extra round, and the piece of mind that the follow up shot will not jamb due to an unseated round.

    I shot 50 rnds of factory fmj, 25 rnds Speer Gold Dot, & 15 rnds Buffalo Bore JHP. Had 10 failures to feed and 4 failure to go into battery. It seems to be made well enough, but I cannot trust this item for concealed carry in my Kahr .380.

    A bit leery of aftermarket products on my pistols. Purchased this product for my Kahr CW380 after reading the positive reviews on a few forums -and also liked the fact that it enhanced reliability and hold open on the last round. Product was shipped quickly and the swap was easy – at least on one magazine. The other magazine was not easy, as it had a different base plate owing to the pinky extension. I emailed customer service, and was told a different plate and spring were in the mail. I received those quickly and I was able to get the swap done. Took it to the range and put about 50 rounds of various ammo through it.No feed issues, and hold open seemed to be working great. Would recommend.

    Originally got magguts for my shield and I absolutely loved it.     I have a Kahr CW380 with two 6 round magazines that I pocket carry. For only $23 I added an extra round with the Mag Guts spring kit. So now I have 8 rounds in the gun and 7 rounds for backup. 15 rounds total in a TINY gun. What a bargain !!! ( and with modern ammo, 380 doesn’t suck ! )

    Very good quality kit. Seems to function perfectly. The mag cat is audibly more positive than with the stock mag internals. This must be how MagGut is claiming higher reliability. The ‘click’ sound with the MagGuts installed is much more defined and sharp than the ‘thud’ that the slide catch makes with the stock internals. You must install the bottom spring plate as described in the instructions with the lip outside the rear of the magazine or you will have insertion issues with your magazine related to user error.

    Great product. Wish they were a little less expensive, or offer free shipping or something to offset the fact that you can buy another factory magazine for $5 more after you factor shipping. But that is in no way a negative reflection of the product itself. It is a great and useful product. I just got it, so I can’t personally attest to its longevity yet, but it does seem like it will hold up to a lot of reloads for years to come. Has worked flawlessly and locked the slide back every time in my cw380.

    No failures to feed or eject. The written instructions for installation kind of suck, but the video was helpful. The first time I installed the kit, I could only fit 6 rounds… after reinstalling after reviewing video, I was able to fit 7 rounds. Not sure how the springs will hold up over time, but for now I am planning on using this as my magazine for my cw380.

    The ordering and shipping process went smoothly and met my expectations. Installing the Magguts in my OEM Kahr CW380 magazine was straightforward. There is an installation video online that is slightly outdated as the lower spring is now a different design. Magguts springs are stronger than OEM. Magguts follower is an improvement over OEM in positioning the top round and in holding the slide stop up when the magazine in empty. I love how the kit turns a 6 round magazine into a 7 round with no change in size.

    Because the springs are more powerful, the top round was being pushed into the lips of the magazine so hard that each round was scratched by the lips. I don’t care about cosmetics, but I do care about drag that might result in a failure to feed, so with some sandpaper I smoothed the sharp edge of the magazine lips, which reduced the scratching of the rounds. The Maggots follower scrapes against the inside of the magazine in a way the plastic OEM follower did not. I don’t mind too much as it does not impact performance, but I did lightly sand all of the surfaces of the Magguts that come in contact with the interior walls of the magazine. I also used Flitz to polish the inside and outside walls of the magazine. Magguts had no hangups on the notch for the magazine catch.

    In summary, I am very pleased with my purchase and view installing Magguts in your Kahr CW380 or P380 as a nearly essential upgrade to improve the reliability of the Kahr while increasing your magazine capacity by one round.

    Works perfectly. The spring has to fall on the follower exactly so, if you can’t get the last round in disassemble and try again when it’s right it will slide in no issues. Weapon runs 100% with it too. I was able to use with my Pearce finger extension by slightly elongating the snap hole in the Pearce. Sweet!

    Outstanding! Not only increased mag capacity by 16%, but improved reliability on one of my P380s that would sometimes misfeed certain brands of ammo.

    Kahr mags are known to allow the top round to creep out of your spare mag, which can hang up reloads. In addition, the alignment of the factory mag can in some instances cause misfeeds with certain brands of ammo. Magguts has fixed both those issues – the rounds are oriented more firmly and consistently and have stopped top round creep and fed completely reliably. I’m so sold I’ve already purchased several more.

    MagGuts insert allowed the extra round, but failed to hold slide open (last rd) consistently with HP or FMJ. Did not have last rd open failure with original mag, but some feed malfunctioning occurred. I sent my Kahr in once for malfunction repair, but obvious problems still persist. MagGuts improved FMJ feeding (6+1 loads); however, easy reloading suffers.

    My 6 round mag now holds 7 +1 in chamber, my 7 round mag now holds 8, with 2 mags I have 16 rounds, for my great Kahr CW380, easy to conceal carry! have shot 100 rounds of Federal FMJ and about 20 rounds of federal 99gr HST JHP with no problems, no misfires, no failure to battery.

    Works great for the Kahr CW380. I prefer the metal follower and superior floorplate on the Magguts. Used without problems the Pearce pinky extension for the magazine, ignore the synthetic floorplate that comes with the Pearce. Has trouble feeding the first round when loaded with 7 Xtreme Penetrators and I personally don’t care, just stay at 6 and carry a spare magazine, everything else I’ve tried is fine. Highly recommend Magguts!

    The instructions were clear and the conversion kit was easy to install in less than a minute. I would have given it a 5 except that the round protrusion that engages the magazine floor plate is smaller than the hole in the floor plate so the floor plate does not fit tightly but moves back and forth (1/16″) on the magazine. The magazine now holds 7 rounds but I have not yet range tested its performance.

    I have not fired my cw380 yet. The mod was very easy to install. I can’t believe the amount of Spring that fits into that tiny magazine, and still increases capacity! It’s voodoo! The kahrs dsctiry magazines have a weak spring in comparison to the really stout recoil main spring. The factory Spring works but is sub optiomal to the mag guts. Based off my research. Can’t wait to get to the range!

    Phenomenal!!! I purchased the +1 magazine springs for 6 round kahr cw380. I experienced issues with firearm and sent back to kahr 2x to fix. I was about to send back to kahr for a 3rd time and ask for a refund. I contacted magguts customer service to return the +1 springs as I planned on not having firearm anymore. They responded right away that I could return the 2 magazine springs if I wanted to but the problems I was experiencing would most likely be resolved if I purchased an upgraded striker from lakeline. The customer service rep was so confident that the lakeline striker would resolve the issue I took a leap of faith and ordered it. When I installed the lakeline striker the firearm ran flawless!! Now I have 8 rounds in a tiny pocket pistol I can wear in the summer months. Awesome setup But it brings up questions on kahrs end. Kahr sells the updated striker on their website so you know they know it’s an upgrade/ oem issue. I sent firearm back for warranty work 2x and they failed to fix the issue and after a simple email the customer service rep from magguts diagnosed and came up with solution to my problem. In addition to the kahr magguts I also have the +2 magguts installed in my Glock 43 and the +1 in my Glock 42. I couldn’t recommend the magguts any higher!! 5 out of 5

    Magazine extension worked great in my Kahr P380 with one exception. The pin on the MagGuts spring floor plate is fairly small in diameter and leaves too much room to move where it sticks out of the OEM Kahr base plate. If the base plate moves the wrong way, it can cause the magazine to get stuck in the pistol and makes it difficult to remove. Since I don’t normally carry a spare magazine this is not really a problem for me, but it is an issue that MagGuts should look at correcting.

    Easy install. Shot 56 rounds with it so far (8 mags). No feed issues with several bullet weights/manufacturers, but did experience a light primer strike on 7th round x2 with one specific type of hollow point: ammo, inc. 90 gr HPs. Need to shoot these hollow points more to see if the trend continues. 200+ rounds fired with factory mag spring yielded no light primer strikes…
