Converts your 6 round Glock 43 magazine into an 8 round magazine while adding less than ¼” to the length. This kit reuses your Glock magazine tube for OEM durability and fit while replacing all other components with MagGuts™ parts. It features our latest Attached Hybrid Spring System that is connected as one piece. This system was designed without compromise and results in in a very space efficient spring that compresses to a super compact height. It allows space for those extra rounds while maintaining necessary force for feed and slide lock reliability.     I only recently received the new MagGuts 43+2 magazine extension. It is easy to install, the instructions were spot on and it is very well built. I can not comment further on it since I have not been to the range to test its reliability. It will go in to my primary CCW pistol.  I will comment more after range testing….

    Extremely disappointed!! First of all, the MagGuts +2 magazine spring was extremely difficult to install into the magazine tube and slide the base on. Once I accomplished installing the spring and attempted to load the magazine, the magazine would only accept 7 rounds. I removed the base plate, removed the MagGuts +2 spring, checked to make certain the follower was installed properly, reinstalled the MagGuts +2 spring, slid the base plate on and again attempted to load the magazine. Again, it would only accept 7 rounds. I disassembled the magazine for the third time and checked the lower MagGuts +2 spring and noticed a “kink” in the spring that was apparently stopping the spring from compressing completely and when the spring did compress it did so at an angle therefore not allowing the spring to completely compress to accept the 8th round. I baled out on putting the MagGuts +2 spring in my EDC and returned to my MagGuts +1 magazine. I can’t/won’t trust the MagGuts +2 spring. I have been carrying the MagGuts +1 for over a year and have had zero issues with it in my G43. Bottom line……..MagGuts +2 was a complete waste of time and money. It now resides in my “Junk” holster drawer!

    This is a little lengthy but I think this review is worth the read. I was on fence about purchasing a g43 or G43x for some time as my EDC. Going back and forth between capacity and deep concealability. This product was the deciding factor. This baseplate is smallest I could find for two rounds. It still provides enough real estate for the pinky to rest comfortably (if you don’t have big bear paws) without hindering concealability. This product gives me the option to appendix carry without worrying if I’m printing. And, the two extra rounds puts the g43 back into relative competition with the g43x without the excessive frame size. So it does exactly what it’s advertised. Now, the two negatives… do not overlook the installation instructions. There is trimming to the magazine to be done. If you overlook this step, you’ll be scratching your head wondering why it only fits 7 rounds. Follow instructions. It will fit 8 rounds, comfortably. Second, it’s the price. At more than the cost of a stock mag, it’s a little pricey. Also considering you’re replacing almost all of the mag with the kit it’s kinda acceptable. But apparently it doesn’t matter that much because I’m ordering another for my backup mag. But, for a good quality product that does exactly what is advertised, I guess you gotta pay to play. Now… most important, reliability. I’ve put about 700 rounds through the gun. I’ve used FMJ, HP, synthetic coated, 115gr, 124gr 147gr and 150gr rounds through the modified mag and a stock mag also mixed, assorted and alike to get a picture if there is gonna be any feeding issues. I have had 0 malfunctions with all the different types of ammo and the slide locks to the rear on empty every time this far. When I get the second one, I’ll run the same test, hopefully it runs as flawlessly as the first one. So far, it’s a great product and I’m willing to carry it for my EDC and trust my life with it. I hope this helps anyone looking and trying to decide if it’s worth the money. I do believe it is. Just my opinion.

    I got the plus 2 but could only fit 7 rounds total. I sent an email to ask about it and possibly return it but got no reply. I followed the instructions and had a friend look at it too to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. Poor product with poor customer service.

    Works great, but pay attention to the directions about trimming the excess plastic inside the magazine tube. It didn’t look like there was much there, but it was enough to prevent the magazine from accepting the 8th round. Once i trimmed it with my pocket knife, the 8th round went in without a problem. To the reviewer that threw his in his “junk drawer’, you can send it to me. I’ll pay the postage!

    I’m a big fan of MagGuts +1 and have been using them for some of my carry guns including G43 with great success. MagGuts +2 is smaller (and thus extends much less) than any other +2 mag extensions for the G43 I have seen. I haven’t shot nearly as many rounds with MagGuts +2 as have with MagGuts +1, but so far they have been reliable with two types of JHPs that I tested.

    I could not manage to get 2 extra rounds into my magazine. 1 was no problem but no 2. I also could not find a video on your sight on u-tube that showed installation. I previously purchased a unit from you that added 1 extra round, now I have 2 magazines that hold 1 extra round.

    Fantastic product! Fits 8 no problem with room to spare making racking of the slide easy. The only criticism is the should be some finishing of the edges of the plastic, as there were a few sharp corners making the grip uncomfortable. I took care of it with some very fine sandpaper. I fee this product makes the G43 what it should have been.

    Have not tested at the range or done 1000round test yet.
    Since I recieved I have loaded 8 rounds and kept it loaded every day. When I can, I unload and load several times. Seems the spring is still strong.
    But initial thoughts… big plus on 2 more rounds.
    I had to use a dremel to shave down high points that would dig into my gut when carrying in the waist band. The high points felt like something sharp stabbing me.
    As a primary mag it’s good. But if I use as a secondary then, quick loads pinch my skin as the back of mag seems to pinch my hand.

    Odd looking spring setup, but it works perfectly. I can fit 8 rounds in the mag with no issue. I have already run a mix of 147 and 124 gr ammo through it. 400 rounds total and not a single issue! I will be fitting all my G43 mags with the MagGuts spring kits.

    I have the Pearce +1 extensions on all my mags except one Taran Tactical +2. I like the Taran extension but to me it’s a tad too long for concealed carry. I saw a lot of reviews on the MagGuts and was impressed so I bought one. I didn’t use it until I had a chance to go to the range and run a number of rounds through it. It performed flawlessly and is as easy to carry concealed as the Pearce. I liked it so well I bought another….You will not be disappointed. You will be impressed.
    Assembly is straight forward with well written instructions but pay attention to the video showing excess plastic in the Glock mags….it will hinder +2 capacity.

    Hint* if you cannot fit the extra 1 or 2 rounds, your mag spring is sitting off centered. Disassemble and reassemble as needed. Took me a couple tries to get right.

    Great product, adds plus two as advertised to g43 mag. The only ‘complaint’ or suggestion for improvement is the strength of the grip plug material that is used to retain the assembly against the mag body and base plate. There are two tiny tabs that hold this plastic plug in place and you must be careful not to exert too much force on this piece during installation else the tabs could be sheared off. Second, other users have said they cannot get 2 rounds in. They have either not followed the instructions and cleaned off the extra plastic that may be present during manufacturing, OR, the flat spring oriented itself vertically when attaching the baseplate. If the flat spring goes vertical, it cannot lay flat thus acting like a round limiter. Trim the plastic and compress the spring flat and you should have no problems. It’s a great quality product from initial impression. Time will tell in regards to reliability and function but it looks to be a solid upgrade. Worth the cost if your goal is to minimize printing/small frame footprint yet add +2 rounds to the factory g43 mag.

Alot of people I work with carry S&W Shield 9mm’s off duty, and I recommend Magguts to them as well. Stay safe out there.

I had one of two magazines with that extra polymer that needed removal and the video was excellent, but I found it accidentally. The product is awesome and I sure with you would make these +2 models for my 9mm Springfield EMP and my Dan Wesson 9mm ECO and my 45 ACP 1911’s …

    The back of the floor plate separates from the pinky extension and the little plastic piece moves so after taking it apart because the floor plate portion didn’t look correct I ended up snapping a piece of the spring. I have magguts for an lc9 which I loved but the plus 2 design did not work so well. It is now in my garbage can

    It works. Less than oem pinky rest piece length, you get +2. Now very first time loading, it may stop at +1, but some finagling (disassembled and reassembled few times) it will get to +2. Only need to do this once and +2 consistently. I think the spring has to seat in certain way.

    Really easy to install, it looks amazing, it adds around a 1/4 inch more than the flush baseplate but gives 2 extra pews?! Extremely worth it for those looking to carry the g43 with 8 rounds of 9mm. I normally just run a g19 appendix, but there are times I have to carry the 43. I definitely feel much better now with 8 rounds. The quality is extremely high, the finish is extremely good, the fit is factory match. You guys knocked it out of the park!

    If you follow the instructions, it is a simple install to gain +2 rounds with a slight increase on your G43 OEM magazines – 8rds +1. Fired fmj and jhp 124gr without an issue.

    So far this product has been amazing. Install is a little difficult but once you get it you won’t be removing it so no problem. I personally did not have to trim any material off of the inside my magazine this is a critical part of install to pay attention to.

    I ran Hornady critical defense lite Hollow points and Speer lawman through it no issues at all. I am so pleased with this mag extension considering the very minimal size increase for the capacity. Most other mag extensions I’ve seen that are about this size only add one round.

    Shipping was extremely fast once order was received. If you’re a Glock 43 owner and want to squeeze those couple extra rounds in with minimal increase in size I 100% recommend this product.

    The kit arrived quickly and wasn’t too awkward to install. The function is flawless and the 8+1 capacity puts my G43 right where I think it should be. It’s actually shorter than the OEM mag with the factory grip extension that doesn’t add capacity. My only gripe is that you don’t sell this as a complete mag. In order to get an identical spare mag I’d have to spend around $80 to buy another complete mag and MagGuts kit.

    Great product! Didn’t accept all 8 rds the first time I put it together. Took it back apart and scraped a tiny bit of the off the inside of the magazine tube.
    Didn’t look to me like there was any need based on what i could see, but a couple of very small uneven patches of plastic were removed.
    Took about 10 min to take back apart and reassemble again.

    Took it to the range, fired 50 rds thru it without a single problem.
    Love it, and will order another.

    I installed (2) Glock 43+2, they are exactly as stated and run great. The top edges of the magazine butt are squared off and we’re catching on my pants pocket. I trimmed the edges with an exacting knife and they don’t catch now. It would be nice if they were trimmed from the factory. The base has no texture so I added a bit of grip tape to the edges which helped my pinky finger get purchase. Definitely recommend. 8 +1 is a define improvement with so little added length. Hands down beats all other mods, do this first to all mags!!!

    I ordered only one at first skeptical about a few of the lower review describing how they weren’t able to fully load the mag to 8…… READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! If you put it together and something isn’t right, strip down, shave more plastic and try again. Awesome extension kit!

    I followed the online tutorial and made sure my magazine tube was free of burs. I assembled the magazine tube as directed and it only held seven rounds. As I tried to disassemble the magazine to check again for burs the spring snapped in half from only the spring pressure itself. I like the idea, but I think it needs some refinement.     The main drawback to the G43 is the magazine capacity. The MagGuts G43+2 is by far the best solution I have found. It adds two extra rounds but adds just 1/4″ to the grip length so the impact to its concealability is marginal. When installing this, you must follow the directions. This is very important. Mine took 8 round easily and although I have only fired maybe 100 rounds through it, I have had no issues whatsoever. Its a great product and I am going to be buying another one very soon.

    The kit works as advertised. You get 8 rounds in a Glock 43 magazine. The surprising benefit of the MagGuts components is they actually feed rounds better than the standard Glock 43 magazine. I found the standard magazines have too much tension in them to smoothly feed the first round of a full magazine. It takes a significant amount of time for the standard magazines to break in.

    I want to begin by saying that I heard about this company several years ago from a very experienced LE firearms instructor. In my opinion, the Glock 43 +2 kit is an innovative design, well constructed, comfortable in the hand and well contoured to match the firearm. I did zero mod on mag tube, because it appeared to be smooth and and not raised as indicated exploded view/directions.     Current May 2021 Review with some round counts: If you’re having issues, please read. Mine are working well.

    Now, for those having issues with getting the 8th round in, or if you’re hesitant because of seeing that in reviews: You really need to watch the accompanying video on how to install. I had to shave a bit more plastic out of the inside-back-bottom of the OEM 6 round mag tube. Two of the three I purchased didn’t load the 8th round. I took them back apart, did this even more thoroughly, and 8 rounds we have. They load smoothly with a bit of extra room after the 8 rounds, so racking the slide is now WAY easier than it was.

    I’ve only run about 150 rounds through these, with around 40 of those being my JHP carry rounds. I had no issues with feeding or locking back on empty, every time. I did have one minor stoppage, and when I went to tap the bottom of the magazine, the slide instantly smacked into battery and I was able to resume firing until empty. I did not even have to do a full Tap Rack Bang. I will chalk that up to things being brand new, and the gun itself is still lower round count, too.

    I’m happy with them, and I have faith in them. Yeah, they’re kinda pricey, but these guys are building quality stuff. You don’t have to buy these every time you go shooting, just once. If you shoot a LOT over the years, these things become very cheap considering their cycle life, which I imagine will be long. I know someone who has been running MagGuts +1s on his G43 for years, and the springs are still as strong as when new.

    Got all 3 of my +2 for the Glock 43 in a couple days, once shipped, which only took a day or two. Understandable.

    Bought 3 +2 kits and installed without much trouble. Had to remove some of the over mold from one mag and it took 8 rounds afterwards perfectly. Just remember even though the area may feel smooth enough to work it may still have to be trimmed. It’s actually two areas that the rear prongs of the follower slide down. Very easy to figure out and scrape off. Had to file down some jagged points on the back of the base pads but that only took a couple minutes with a nail file. All 3 hand cycle Underwood extreme defenders and Corbon DPX without a single problem and lock back slide every time. Will update after range visit but I don’t anticipate any problems. Will likely buy 2 more kits for my extra mags. It would be nice if Magguts could somehow make mags for Glock but I know that’s more complicated than it looks.

    Update:
    Visited the range today with the Glock 43. All three +2 mags fed ejected and locked back slide without a problem. Underwood 90 gr +P xtreme defender with it’s screwdriver tip, Corbon dpx with it’s big hollow point and some147 gr sxt that I had in the safe.

    Ordered MagGuts +2 for a G43 (9/2021).
    Installation was straight forward. I did not have any extra material to trim inside the mag, which was nice.
    After installation, was able to fit 8 rounds easily.

    ISSUE 1:
    The follower does not positively engage the tip on the slide stop. So on an empty MagGuts mag, the empty mag does not eject. You have to pull it out manually.

    To recreate:
    a. Lock slide back with no mag.
    b. While looking down mag well from top, slowly insert factory mag.
    c. as mag fully seats, notice the factory follower make contact with the slide stop lever. The follower is slightly pushed in, activating the spring. Thus allowing the mag to be ejected when you press the mag release.
    d. On the MagGuts follower, mine barely touches the slide stop lever, on an empty mag, the magazine does not eject out of the magwell, at least this is my issue with it.

    ISSUE 2:
    The rear of the follower tips into the mag when inserting the first round (Minor issue).
    To work around this, put the first round on the front half of the follower, then push the round down and “slide” it back.

    I hope it all makes sense. Have not shot the mag yet, but hopefully it’s reliable.

I don’t like the feel of the metal insert on the rear of the base plate but is nothing major.     It was fairly easy to assemble, seems to be high quality. I did not have any extra plastic over molding the metal inside of my magazine but if you do be sure to cut it flush with metal . So after I put it all together I was only able to get seven rounds in there I was very disappointed I took it apart a few times trying to see what I did wrong so after I put the seventh round in I grabbed a magazine loader and pushed down with a little bit of pressure and I heard something click but now I had extra Spring room for the eighth round that fit with no problem I also took it to the range and fired a little over 200 rounds with not one hiccup . I definitely suggest buying this product .

    I was researching +2 magazine baseplates for my G43 and looked at all the main players (TTI, Vickers, Pearce, Strike Industries…etc). I wanted to keep my grip length no longer than the OEM pinky magazine and their systems all added significantly to the overall length. Then I found the MagGuts +2 that said that their +2 added only 1/8″ so I figured I would give it a try. Shipping was quick, easy to install and 8 rounds loaded without difficulty. I compared it to a friend’s TTI +1 and it was practically the same length! I had some initial FTF on the last two rounds but after firing several magazines they broke in and the FTF stopped. I still want to put a few hundred through it before I call it reliable but my testing thus far has been very positive.

    For anyone having issues with the last round going in make sure you have NO polymer over the metal to the rear of the magazine as indicated in the instructions and video on the website. I had a slight amount thinking it would not be an issue … it was! Once removed all is well! In my opinion this is a perfect magazine setup for the Glock 43 or PF9SS build. Contours well with the grip and just the right length for most hands to get your pinky on. Nice job MagGuts!

    The extension did not work in my oem mags. The follower would not go all the way up to the feed lips. Would hang up 3/4“ from the top. Customer service was less than helpful immediately assuming it was install error and that their products are infallible – mind you I followed their video instructions to a T. Given that this was going to be used on a carry pistol i couldn’t in good conscience warrant trying to replace/exchange. If you value your time and money stay away from magguts. I’m out the cost of shipping both ways and still had to find an alternative solution… huge waste of time.

    The MagGuts +2 Magazine Conversion for Glock 43 is a very good high quality upgrade to existing OEM G43 mags. The installation is slightly tricky and you must follow the instructions carefully but if you do, it will go quickly. The instructions regarding the removal of excess over-molded plastic inside the rear wall of the magazine, my mags did not display such over-molding but there was a bit of clear mold release material which can still interfere with the follower. When I first loaded the mags, I was only able to get 7 rounds in but using a mag loader, I was able to force the 8th round in hearing/feeling a click which the follower was overcoming slight mold flash in the bottom of the mag tube. This “Click” feel persisted in loading the last round for about 4 to 5 reloads. After than, loading smoothed out. As far as firing function, I had one stovepipe stoppage with one of the two magazines I used the MagGuts +2 Magazine Conversion on, after than, the mag ran perfectly for 150+ rounds as well as the second mag. I am very happy with my purchase of the MagGuts +2 Magazine Conversion.

    This particular item had a manufacturing defect that left extra polymer on the spacer so it wouldn’t fit in position and close. Took me a while to find the issue.     Installation is a bit tricky with arthritic hands, but being a 74 year old retired machinist I managed. Some of the other reviews mentioned getting the spring in correctly. It is important to be careful when installing flat spring. You must collapse it without folding out of sequence. Perhaps manufacturer could install some type of compression device that would be removable before final sliding the baseplate over retention pin.
    If I was still in the machine manufacturing business, I would give it a try. I realize it would probably add to cost, but in advertising , they could show how simple it would be if spring was pre-compressed.
    As for operation, ,,,,,,, works like a dream. Well designed and should be serviceable for many years.

With that being said while I really like the back of the mage running flush with the grip and adding s little more in your palm it could of been a slam dunk if it followed the same profile as the oem pinky extension in the front to really get a good purchase on the weapon. I feel as though what you gain in the back you lose in the front. All in all still the best option available

    Your plus 2 g-43 is a winner. I an load 8 and there is still a little room at the top. Makes racking the slide easy. The only thing lacking is a little texture. I solved that with a small strip of talon grip tape. Shipping was quick.

    I have to say I get a better grip with the new + 2. I know some people have trouble with getting 8 in the magazine ( secret to that is you just have to push the stack of 7 down with a screwdriver to set the spring) after running 600 rounds 2 of the 4 mags do not lock the slide back after the last shot. Not sure what is happening.

    So far so good. I put 108 rounds of 115 grain full through it, no malfunctions. I’m always hesitant about modifying mags or using aftermarket mags on a carry gun but this seems to be working well. I’m also a huge fan of how much length it adds to the grip. It’s just enough to get my pinky mostly on but not so much that it prints really bad. I’m very happy with it so far but I’ll want to run a few boxes of carry ammo through it before I bet my life on it but based on my initial testing I’m confident it will do well.

    This magguts +2 extension has worked flawlessly! It cycles every kind of ammo I put through it. Plus it barely extends the grip and keeps the pistol concealable. Some of the other extensions make the gun look ridiculous. I’ll definitely be buying more of these

    I replaced the internals with Mag Guts +2 to make the magazine have an 8-round capacity. However, I cannot for the life of me fit the 8th round into the magazine (tried multiple times…. disappointed.

    after inspection of my g43 magazine lower case, I did not really see any plastic overmolding. I installed the MagGuts spring assembly and found the magazine would only hold 7 rounds. So, I disassembled the magazine and trimmed just a tiny amount of plastic per the instructions , and reassembled the magazine. This time it held 8 rounds and still had a little extra spring compression. I feel that MagGuts is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone

    I never put aftermarket parts on any gun that I am going to use for personal protection. My friend gave me a MagGuts plus 2 magazine for my Glock 43 because he had traded in his gun. I was hesitant to use it, but I took it to the range with me and tried doing everything that I could to make it fail. The magazine performed flawlessly, and I really like having two more rounds in a Glock 43. I no longer feel as if I have less capability than a P365 or a Hellcat. I like and trust Glocks, and now I feel much better about this 43. I just purchased another plus 2 magazine kit from MagGuts. I can not comment on it because I have not assembled and tested it yet. It is nicely packaged and the parts look well made and of high quality. I will carry it as my second magazine. I feel safe and confident with your products and seventeen rounds and a G43.

    Works well and fits great. The fit on the bottom of the grip is so good it makes you wonder why Glock didn’t think of it. It really just looks like it was made as part of the pistol. I removed a popular +1 and installed the MagGuts +2. It has more free space in the loaded mag than the +1 did and doesn’t put the extra pressure against the bottom of the slide. The only negative I would say is if you have big hands and like the way the Pearce +1 lets you get your pinky in on the action you will only get it halfway on with this one. The plus side of that tradeoff is that it carries better. I bought one to try out and liked it well enough to order two more.
    A serious complaint that I have……. MagGuts is not making a +2 for the G29.

    The first two conversion kits i bought went on flawlessly (on used Glock magazines). But the 3rd I bought to modify a NEW Glock magazine was a real b*tch to put on; to the point where the plastic spring end piece almost became unusable (2 tiny locking bits of plastic got “shaved” down in trying to get the thing on and so it kept popping off while trying to fit it all together)

    I liked the first one so much I bought a second. I think it gives you the perfect grip for the Glock 43 I like the factory mags but this is a happy medium that gives you a solid grip while maintaining the compact size and I have large hands. My factory mags were not easy to insert into the gun and that was always annoying to me especially for timed reloads. plus it puts unnecessary strain on the ejector (all my glocks do this I have never had issue just don’t see why it would be designed that way). Magguts not only eliminates that issue but gives you 2 extra rounds which is crazy considering how small the extension is. As for Function my first one worked great I put about 90-100 rounds through it without a single malfunction. The slide also always locked back and this is using FMJ 115gr & 124gr and 115gr Sig Sauer JHPs. I mixed them up every way I could and ran some full mags of each, never stopped working. Still waiting on the second to arrive.
    However!!! When I first installed the magguts I could only fit 7 rounds in and I could just tell it would probably not have fed correctly. You need to remove all the polymer on the back of the magazine so you can clearly see the steel insert if you are holding the magazine eye level. At first I just made the polymer flush with the steel insert and that’s not enough you need to really cut it I tossed my exacto knife and grabbed a real razor blade and after that it worked beautifully. I’m sure those having feeding issues and those not getting the 8th round in just didn’t take enough polymer off. Again it’s A LOT!!

    I’ve only put a couple hundred rounds through this. I had one failure to feed early on, but I was limp-wristing with one-handed fire, so I don’t really think it was the mag. The spring design is really ingenious, I’m impressed. The base plate had some sharp edges that dug into my palm, but I filed those down easily (I’ve always had some edge I need to smooth on factory Glocks). Overall, it’s certainly worth the money. I’m curious to see how the service life of the spring compares to stock, with their flat/leaf spring design.

The shipping was extremely fast! After looking at the installation video for the hundredth time, I installed the extension with no problems. I loaded eight rounds with no problems. Dont know why people are complaining in the reviews about it not working clearly they dont know what their doing…..I also have a plus 2 from Taran Tactical but the magguts is smaller and lighter in weight!! The magguts plus 2 system is even smaller than the stock 6 mag that has the pinky extension! All in all magguts did its thing with it being very concealable, small, and with 2 extra rounds!! Good job!

    I was a sceptic as the first failed. However, I tried a second time and all 8 loaded. With a slide at battery, I inserted the magazine and went in very easy to the click. Racked the side with no drag (smooth), PERFECT. With two extra rounds the profile was less than the Pierce +1 and had two extra rounds not one. Great product.
